Property Description

This stunning farm is close to Ladismith and easily accessible from Route 62 and is in a very scenic and safe area.  Grootrivier runs through the farm. The farm has deep fertile soil.

Water is sourced from 3 boreholes for animal and domestic use. Water from Floriskraal Dam which falls under the Buffelsrivier Irrigation Board.  Servitude water is also sourced from Dwarsrivier which is scheduled on a 4 day cycle and is set out in a chart - only when water is available. 

2 More boreholes which is currently pumping 40 000 litres per hour and 48 000 per hour.  Currently busy with licensing the boreholes and is in constant contact with BGCA.  The current capacity which we are pumping is within the regulations guidelines and does not exceed it.

Approximately 130 ha of arable land which is mostly Lucerne producing.  The remainder of the farm is suitable for a small game farm or for keeping sheep or goat on the Karoo veld.  Completely fenced (jackals proof and stock proof) 920 ha in total.

Lucerne variety – SA Standard and VL414 (mixed)

Economical 3 and a half tower Kimberly Pivot irrigating 6 ha Lucerne.  12 cuts a year.  Another 2 pivots can be installed on 2 5 ha areas.  Eskom point close by, as well as water from borehole

5 ha onions seed planted under drip irrigation

5 ha carrot seed - busy planting and will also be drip irrigated

Seed contracts for next year is already allocated (twice than what is allocated for the current year)

Small ground dam to store water and to irrigate 25 ha.  In a normal year 8 cuts per year.

30 ha available for Almond plantation – contract currently available although not allocated.

Rest of arable land about 4 to 5 cuts Lucerne per year.

About 2.4 to 4 tons Lucerne per ha

Sufficient veld available for game farming.  Not game fenced.  Jackalsproof.
